PapaShield's guides and tool content are prepared by the PapaShield Team. There is no individually named author, and we do not present any guide as written or reviewed by a specific person, doctor, lawyer, or other named professional. Bylines read “By PapaShield Team” because that is accurate, not because we are hiding an author's identity.

Who writes PapaShield's guides
What 'checked for clarity, sourcing, and safe wording' means
Guides marked this way have gone through an internal check for:
- Clarity - plain-English wording, consistent structure, and working links.
- Sourcing - claims about laws, deadlines, or programs are checked against the official sources cited at the bottom of the guide at the time the guide was written or last updated.
- Safe wording - the guide avoids telling a reader what to do in an emergency, avoids stating a legal or medical conclusion as certain, and directs readers to verify details with their own insurer, provider, or a qualified professional.
What it does not mean
“Checked for clarity, sourcing, and safe wording” is not a “medically reviewed” or “legally reviewed” claim. No guide on PapaShield has been reviewed by a licensed physician, attorney, or other credentialed professional, and we do not claim otherwise anywhere on the site. PapaShield is not a law firm, medical provider, insurer, or broker, and nothing on this site is legal, medical, billing, insurance, or financial advice. See the Disclaimer for the full limitations.
Sourcing policy
When a guide states a law, deadline, statistic, or program name, we link to an official first-party source, such as HealthCare.gov, CMS, or the Department of Labor, in that guide's Sources section. If a claim cannot be verified against a current official source, we leave it out or describe it as something to check with the reader's own insurer, provider, or state agency rather than stating it as fact.
Corrections and updates
Laws, deadlines, and program details change. Each guide shows the date it was last updated. If we learn that something on the site is outdated or incorrect, we correct the guide and update that date - we do not silently rewrite history or backdate corrections. If you notice something that looks outdated, incorrect, or unclear, please tell us using the contact details below so we can review it.
